New Collaborative Publication in IEEE Access

Our lab, in collaboration with Dr. Bożena Kostek's lab from Gdańsk University of Technology (Poland), has published a new paper in IEEE Access. Titled "Visual Perception and Sensory Engagement in ASMR Videos: An Affective Computing Perspective". This work presents the first computational study of visual triggers in ASMR videos, addressing a major gap in prior ASMR research that focused mainly on audio.

Using a multimodal framework combining color dynamics, motion, and 3D facial and hand modeling, we identify visual features that drive viewer engagement, including stable facial expressions and hand postures. These findings provide a quantitative basis for designing ASMR and other calming audiovisual media for relaxation and affective regulation.
